Real Estate Investing is About Relationships

Dealing With Respect

Going into homes to negotiate to own a property with an "us vs them" mentality will often get you nowhere. Real estate investing is about relationships and the sooner you realize it the easier it will be to buy property and make the deal, especially in the present Alberta market.

Those who own the homes and those who want to buy them are sitting at the same table and each wants something in particular in order to walk away happy. With the real estate property market and the incredible economy in Alberta being the hottest in the world right now you will have many opportunities to not only own new property but to establish relationships at the same time. You don't have to make friends with everyone you negotiate with but you can certainly make a good and lasting impression. You never know when those people may come into play again in your life so you want to make sure you deal with them fairly. Instead of going in with a winner take all mentality, take the time to listen to what it is they really want. What is their motivation? It's a common misconception that money is the biggest factor in almost any deal but you will find that it is really not true. Why do they no longer want to own their homes?

Homes in the Alberta market are ripe for the picking right now and you can negotiate to own them by treating the vendors with respect knowing that this time they are on the other side of the table but next time it will be you.
